5 Months

Today officially marks 5 months until Tim and I will be tying the knot.  We've gotten a lot accomplished, but I still feel like there is a lot more to do.  My dress and my bridesmaid dresses came in over the weekend, so I'm planning on going in and trying that on with my mom on Saturday.  Otherwise there really isn't anything new that has occurred.

As for today it's Monday - I hate Mondays.  I know I'm going retro and throwing out the Garfield, but they aren't the greatest day of the week.  Last night I kept having weird dreams every hour.  One which involved Eve getting into a fireplace (that we don't have) and me yelling at her to get out.  Then when she finally got out of the fire she turned into a rabbit I had back in elementary school.  Needless to say, I don't want to work right now!  Hope you all have lovely days : )

Bubbles Not Allowed!

I've been struggling for what I would like to do for my wedding favors.  I found quite a few things that I liked, but am not sure if I should do a theme, or just give everyone some random cute things.  Unfortunately, one of the party favors that I wanted to buy are not allowed on the cruise ship - BUBBLES!

Apparently bubbles are weapons of mass destruction these days, and are not allowed on the cruise ship.  Are they worried that someones eye might get irritated if a bubble was blown in it?  Oh well, so here is what I wanted to buy if I were given the opportunity to have bubbles at the reception:

I thought these were so adorable <3

I also really loved this gift, but I know that some people probably wouldn't want me picking out their salt-n-pepper shakers, but I still might just buy this for Tim and I (really more for me):

Anyway that's it for today.  I'm still going to keep looking for cheap, but nice wedding favors.  And remember... bubbles are dangerous, so always blow with caution!

Hair Continued...

Well my impulse got the best of me, and I ended up cutting off all of my hair.  Technically not all of my hair, but a lot of it.  As you see:

Here is the front of my hair.  If only I were 5'7" maybe I could have been a model haha, not really, but I am posing.

And here is the lovely side view.  So as you can see I am now going to have short hair for my wedding.  I still have 5 months so I think I want it just a slightly bit longer, but it won't be longer than my shoulders.

P.S. I love my new hair!

Hair

Well I've currently reached a point that many women have faced...what should I do with my hair?  For the past 8 months I have been letting my hair grow out.  It used to be chin length, now it's a little past my shoulders.  But I have a dilemma.... I always thought I'd want long hair when I got married.  But I really miss my short hair. Plus when I was looking up wedding hairstyles, the short just looked so cute.

Earlier this morning I was prepared to rush to my hairdresser and tell her just to chop it all off.  Give me my bob back!!!  But she isn't going to be there by the time I get home, so I now have two days to think it over before I make a decision.  So much for trying to be irrational huh?

Also, I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to do my own hair and makeup on my wedding day.  Having short hair would make it a lot easier to do.  Christine, my maid of honor, thinks my hair could look so exquisite with a bump-it and side ponytail.  The girl should have went to hair school : )

Anyway once I make a decision I'll post pics of my new do.  I also need to run out and get make up to do some test runs before the big day.  So in 5 short months I need to teach myself how to become a cosmetologist.  Lovely.

Guess What?

I ran yesterday!!  For approximately 5 minutes... Yeah I know, not long at all.  But I did follow that up with a nice 40 minutes of power walking.  Not to mention while I was walking I saw some homes for sale.  So as the stalker that I am I went and looked at them (from the end of the street).

Of course they are way too pricey and Tim and I wouldn't be able to afford them.   Buying a home is one of our next big steps.  We'd rather have a lower mortgage than pay what we do now in rent.  However, almost all of the houses we can afford aren't exactly our tastes.  We still need to save up some more money anyway, so I'm figuring we'll probably have a home after we get married.

Tim and I plan on playing tennis today.  Which means I'll have two days in a row of exercise!! Goodbye chia pet butt!

5 Pounds

OK so I am not fat by no means, but I would like to get in shape for my wedding day.  It appears that old age has gotten the best of me : / ...Yes I know that 22 years old isn't that old at all.  But believe me I cannot keep weight off like I did at 18.  I've come to my senses that I'll never be 110 pounds again, but I need to be more active.

The only problem is that I don't know how much I actually weigh.  Despite the fact that I don't have a scale (I could easily buy one) I just don't want to know what I weigh.  Stepping on a scale is one of the most depressing things you could ask a girl to do.  Especially if your butt has grown like a chia pet over the past year.

Exercising though isn't really my problem, it's eating better.  Why does everything that's healthy for you taste like a damn piece of cardboard wrapped in horse hay, dunked in saw dust??  Seriously, why can't they make a carrot taste like ice cream?  I am guilty though since I hardly ever exercise anymore.  After sitting on my butt all day I go home and do more of it.  At least I'm consistent in my habits right?

I'd say starting today I'm going to turn over a new leaf and do the best I can with eating right and working out.  However, the day is almost over and I like to procrastinate.  So tomorrow I'm going to do better...

And no I did not buy a dress that was going to be too small that I now have the pressure of losing a dramatic amount of weight to squeeze into it.  I did want to be able to breathe when I wear it. I also wanted to be able to sit down without the back ripping in half like I'm the incredible hulk.  Maybe I should buy some green body paint for the big day, just in case...

Fur Children

Tim and I are the proud parents of two cats: Max and Eve.  Even though they can be crazy I love them very much. We adopted Max back in May 2009.  He was only 12 weeks old, and as you can see from his picture he is an orange tabby.
He was in a litter of four, and I picked him out specifically because he came to the cage door and acted social.  Unfortunately for him...people CANNOT drive up in MD, so we ended up getting in an accident with him at a gas station (old man hit us).  Then two days later he ended up being sick with an upper respiratory infection.  After weeks of illness, going to the vet, and almost dying, he finally got better.  Now he's 1 1/2 years old and he's doing really well...he still sometimes sneezes though.

Now onto our second cat Eve.  We adopted her of May 2010, and as you can see by her picture she is a gray tabby.

Eve was by herself when we got her, and I wanted Max to have another cat around his age, but younger.  Also, I wanted to get a girl cat.  She kept pawing at her bed in the cage and was very lovable when she was out of it.  Tim and I fell in love with her like we did Max.  She was 5 months when we got her and Max was bigger then she was.  Now at 8 months she is bigger than Max and is the queen of the house.  I'm sure she honestly thinks we brought our new recliner home for HER to lay in it.  Even though she is a diva, she is very sweet and always wants attention.  She is my lap dog cat.

Here's a picture of both of them together on a three tiered cat tree we got them as a present (they love it)

So these are our kids.  They're kind of hairy and look nothing like us... However, they did get their cuteness from me : )

P.S. Tim did hate the profile picture so I'm putting up a new one.

Marriage License

Ok so the state of Maryland says that you have to have a marriage license in the county you are getting married.  Fine.  Well the Baltimore County Court House never answers it's phone to help me!  The operator apparently has been on vacation for a while.  I'm not looking forward to the almost 2 hour drive to Baltimore twice on my Friday's off...whoever said getting married would be a cake walk?

No worries though, Tim will definitely be dragged along with me to feel my pain.  And this is one of the 3 big things that we have left to do to plan for our wedding.  Fortunately we are getting married on a cruise ship, so Carnival will do almost all of the work for us.  Our paperwork is almost complete, and that should be in the mailbox this weekend.  Below is a picture of the ship we'll be married on: Carnival Pride

Last night I took some pictures of our fur children.  They should be up later...

Profile Picture

The new profile pic is of Tim and I at my brother's wedding reception (circa May 2010).  He hates the picture, but it's our most recent...sorry babe <3

First Time

So hello everyone!  This is my first time ever writing a blog.  I found myself wanting a little more creativity in my life, so here I am writing.

A little bit about me:

I'm a 22 year old Marylander.  Southern MD has been my home all of my life.  I figured I was going to raise a family and eventually become an old bitty in the place I was born.  Little did I know that the best thing that's ever happened to me would come from Texas...my fiance Tim.  Now after many trips back and forth seeing each other thanks to airplanes, we are finally settled in... Southern MD!!!

Problem is, we both want to live in Texas.  However, I have job commitments here until June 2013.  Bummer.

Purpose:

The purpose of this blog is to chronicle our lives until we can finally move to Texas.  But for now my short term goal is to chronicle my life to becoming a Hallaron.  The big day is January 23, 2011.  That leaves me 165 short days to get everything done.  More details to come, enjoy the blog!
